Guidelines and Exposure Standards
Various guidelines and standards are being used globally for evaluating radiation compliance for human exposure to radio-frequency electromagnetic fields.
- The ICNIRP’98 guidelines
- The IEEE 95.7 recommended practice for RF safety programs
- The ITU K.52 and K.61 recommendations
- The EU Directive 2004/40/EC.
- The WHO Model Legislation for EMF Protection that will most probably be adopted in most of the countries in due course .
- National Standard based on ICNIRP like ARPANSA (Australia), TEC (India), MS (Malaysia) etc.
- Other National Standards like Canadian Code 6, Russian Standard, BGV11, Switzerland Standard
- The EU Directive 2004/40/EC.
